My last to-do before winter arrives is to cut my yews. Once frost hits they do provide wonderful winter structure. It takes a day of swinging the cordless hedge trimmer; and fortunately the yew is very forgiving when it comes to powered tools. Scissors would make for cleaner, sharper look – but then, time is always short it seems. So a little less perfection will have to do.
