I have started to cut some of my perrenials because I will be travelling later this month … altough it is suggested to wait until late winter I start clearing my borders in autumn nowadays – sinceever a couple years back we had no snow until end of January but then until almost mid March. And then within two weeks the spring bulbs were so high that cutting the rest was a nightmare … and it was getting awfully late for the rose pruning. I leave the echinaceas and the sedums which give the borders some height during winter and the birds can pick on the seeds.
Most importantly however, I can practise my topiary skills on my yews. Mastering it might be something totally different but I am still thrilled by the outcome …
